Health campaigners plan to protest tomorrow (Thursday 18th) evening as the Heath Secretary Jeremy Hunt visits Southall.

The local Conservative Association booked Mr Hunt as a guest speaker at the Southall Conservative Club but his visit has been met with opposition from local campaigners who oppose widescale NHS changes.

Ealing Save Our NHS group has used various social media platforms to urge local residents to show their opposition to Mr Hunt. Their poster reads ' Jeremy Hunt NHS destroyer is not welcome in Southall.'

The Ealing Labour London Assembly member, Dr Onkar Sahota who plans to join the protest said:

"Jeremy Hunt has a nerve coming to Ealing after his closures of A&E units and NHS services across West London. Ealing has lost access to two A&E units, had its only maternity ward closed and paediatric services are being shut down. As a medical professional for 25 years I have never known a time so hard for NHS staff. I hope all residents will join me in opposing Mr Hunt's needless cuts when he arrives this Thursday."
