A new app designed to help Ealing recycle has run into a few glitches.

at home app

The @Home app is designed to make recycling easier but residents have reported getting numerous alerts regarding bin day with others being told the wrong colour to put out.

The app can be downloaded on mobile devices (although the google play download is currently unavailable) and allows you to:

•           See details of rubbish and recycling services provided at your address
•           See your next collection date
•           Receive free reminders for your collection day
•           Get information on what you can and can't recycle
•           Find your nearest recycling centre

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for transport environment and leisure said: “The @Home recycling app provides a simple and quick way to do everything from checking your next collection date to finding out what household waste is recyclable.

“Ealing currently recycles more than half of its household waste, making it one of the top performing boroughs in London. We want to make it as easy as possible for local people to recycle and improve even more in the future. I encourage residents to go online and download the app to ensure they have all the information on their rubbish and recycling collections at the touch of a button.”

A council spokesman said: '' We work with the provider to ensure that all information on the @Home app is accurate and up-to-date. We will look into any issues that are reported to us by residents and rectify these as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.''
