Decent weather brought the community out to celebrate Friends of Horsenden Hill Apple Day on Saturday 28 September.

With plenty of activities for the whole family all money raised from the event is ploughed back into Horsenden.

Lynda O’Hare Chair of the Horsenden friends group says, "Yesterday's Apple Day was another memorable occasion for our neighbourhood. Hundreds of people turned up and enjoyed themselves and this was possibly the busiest event the Friends have ever hosted.

"We couldn't put on such events without a great team of volunteers who turn up rain or shine and give up their time so willingly for the benefit of the community.

"From our car parking chief Zain Sayed to the catering crew, the runners, the juicers, the games leaders, the orchard information team, the cleaners and gazebo gang, the bucket shakers and the cake bakers, thank you all for being so amazing. We simply couldn't do it all without you.

"And thanks to everyone who helped our fundraising through buying stuff, and donating money, raffle prizes, cakes, samosas etc.

"We don't have the final tally yet but it's in the region of several hundred pounds, every penny of which will be reinvested in Horsenden.

"Hope you all had a great day.”
