More than a thousand people have now signed a petition against the demolition of what used to be 'The Haven' pub in the centre of Ealing.

Plans are underway to knock down the 137-year-old former stables building and turn into a four storey block of flats. It is part of bigger plan of changes in the area which would also see a pedestrian route built through to the Dickens Yard development.

The building is currently used as the head office of 'Alfa Energy' and sits within Haven Green conservation area.

It's one of the oldest in the area and locals want it preserved.

The petition has been organised by planning expert Victor Mishiku who says there have been many previous planning applications in the area but none that wanted to demolish this 'landmark ' building.

Ealing Planning Committee is expected to consider the application on 5th November at Ealing Town Hall.
