It's due to re-open today (Wed) and Mitchell and Butler, who run the Harvesters, say they took the action in line with procedures and are keen to highlight that the closure is not related to any food or hygiene issues.

A spokesperson said:

''The Harvester Boston Manor was closed on Monday 21 March due to a suspected outbreak of viral illness which is most likely to have been brought into the business and is not related to the food preparation or hygiene standards of the site.

''We have implemented our specialist disinfection treatment procedures as part of our standard health and safety policy. In addition, we’ve spoken with EHO of about the incident and they are satisfied with the action we have taken.''

The site is due to reopen today (23 March) and will be trading as normal over the Easter weekend.
