A elderly man has been injured after being knocked down in Hanwell Thurday afternoon (29 October).

The Uxbridge road - between the Clock Tower and Church Road - has been closed off as the emergency services deal with the incident. Three fire appliances, two ambulances and a number of police cars are in attendance.

A police spokesperson said: ''Police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) to Uxbridge Road, Ealing on Thursday, 29 October at 14:15 hours following a report of a lorry in collision with a pedestrian. Officers and LAS attended and found a man, believed to be in his 80s underneath the lorry. The London Fire Brigade were also called along with the air ambulance unit. The man has been taken to a north London hospital. We await an update on his condition. Officers remain on scene and road closures are in place.''

Traffic is being diverted along Boston Road.
