Woman Killed and Man Arrested on Suspicion Of Murder in Hanwell

A post mortem will take place today following the 'unexplained' death of a woman in Hanwell yesterday

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 12.11pm on Thursday, 19 July to reports of a seriously injured woman in Uxbridge Road, W7 near the junction with Half Acre.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics and the attendance of a helicopter from the London Air Ambulance service, the woman, believed to be aged in her twenties, was pronounced dead at the scene at 12.50pm. Her next-of-kin has been informed.

 Police say contrary to various news reports 'There is no evidence that she was stabbed'.

A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. He has been taken to a north London police station where he remains in custody.

The Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command has been informed as is routine but the case is currently being dealt with by detectives from Ealing as an unexplained death.

This morning ( 20/07) police have not officially released the name of the deceased,and say there is 'no evidence she was stabbed.'

A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place at Fulham Mortuary on Friday, 20 July.
