The organisers of the annual Hanwell Hootie have not abandoned hope of holding the event this year.

The normal date in May is not possible due to continuing coronavirus restrictions but the team is working hard on alternatives.

The most likely date would be in September with various measures in place to ensure the event remains Covid secure. More clarity on the situation should be available by this June when further announcements are expected.

The team is also working on Hootie TV to allow full band performances to be livestreamed.

Director of the Hanwell Hootie Andy Mcrobbie said, “As you can imagine it has been incredibly hard for any person to make plans for the future… let alone plan for one of the UK’s largest (and best) metropolitan music festivals!

“We want to let you know that we are still very much alive and kicking and retain the same enthusiasm and willingness to put on amazing live musical events for you lovely people.

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.

We’ve always done that and won’t be changing, in fact we’d like to do more.

However, the readership that these stories generates is often below that needed to cover the cost of producing them. Our financial resources are limited and the local media environment is intensely competitive so there is a constraint on what we can do.

One-off donations are also appreciated. Choose The Amount You Wish To Contribute.

For businesses we offer the chance to be a corporate sponsor of community content on the site. For £30 plus VAT per month you will be the designated sponsor of at least two articles a month with your logo appearing if supplied.
