The team behind the Hanwell Hootie has withdrawn applications for licenses which if approved would have enabled more events to be put on throughout the year.

The popular one day annual Hootie which attracts thousands of people to the area will still take place on May 12th 2018, however there was confusion after Hanwell Hootie CIC applied for 3 permanent licenses allowing up to 5 more, 4 day events with music, dance and alcohol.

The locations would have included two conservation areas at St Georges Fields, Brent Meadow, as well as St Melitus church.

Following a public meeting and hearing local objections the Hootie team has now issued a statement  saying there was never any intention of transfering the licences to commercial organisations - they had been intended for community to use if they so wished.
They have apologised for any confusion caused and withdrawn the applications.
