There's still time to get your name down for the Hanwell Carnival's procession.

The big day is Saturday June 18th .

The procession assembles at Hanwell Community Centre in the morning and then makes its way to Elthorne Park where the proceedings are officially opened and the fun starts.

Carnival committee Chairman Colin Chalmers says, ”We have some great entries this year – local schools, including Hobbayne School who are celebrating their centenary, social clubs, music and dancing – but when it comes to the procession, the more the merrier”

Whether you take part on foot or on a conventional float, there's a prize for the 'best dressed' entry. Procession coordinator, Viv Ellis adds:

”The carnival's theme this year is “Wild W7” which leaves lot of scope- you can interpret this however you want; cowboys, wild animals, wild hair - it's up to you”

If you are interested in getting a group together – you can get details and enter via the website; www.hanwellcarnival.co.uk. Plus this year the carnival's on Facebook (hanwellcarnival) and twitter @hanwellcarnival
