Church Road in Hanwell was closed off this morning after reports that an unexploded bomb had been uncovered on a building site.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said, ''Police were called to Church Road, W7 at 10:22hrs on Wednesday, 3 October to reports of a possible WW2 ordnance found on a building site.  Local officers attended along with London Ambulance Service and specialist officers.  

"The item was removed for disposal and the cordons lifted at 11:37hrs.''
