A pedestrian who had been badly injured in a road accident in Greenford has died.

Police were called shortly after 16:05hrs on Saturday, 27 May to reports of a white Volkswagen van in collision with a pedestrian on Whitton Avenue East.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended. The pedestrian, a 21-year-old man, was taken to a north London hospital where he died in the early hours of Monday, 29 May. His next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

The driver of the van stopped at the scene.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) based at Alperton Traffic Garage are investigating.

Enquiries continue into the full circumstances of the collision. There have been no arrests.
