Officers were called to reports of a man being beaten over the head by a man wielding a stick in Greenford in the early hours of Sunday (9th) morning.

It happened in Mornington Road, at junction with Allenby Road and Somerset Road, at around 04:05hrs.

The unknown man who was with a woman was hit across the head with a piece of wood a number of times by the suspect and then kicked in the head and back while on the floor.

The victim, the woman and the suspect had all left the scene prior to police arriving.

CCTV was monitored during the incident which showed the unknown man and woman running off and getting into a dark coloured vehicle which drove off in the direction of Lady Margaret Road, Southall.

The suspect, a 20-year-old man was arrested nearby on suspicion of actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.

Police would like the victim of this assault and the women he was with to come forward. They would also like to hear from anyone who was in the area and witnessed the assault.
