Police have launched a murder investigation in Greenford after a man's body was found in a home where a grave had been dug in the garden.

Officers were called to the address on Greenford Road on Thursday night and found the body of a 36 year old man inside.

In the garden they discovered a grave.

A post-mortem examination took place at Uxbridge Mortuary on Friday, 6 December. The cause of death is not being issued at this time.

Next of kin are now aware and formal identification has taken place. The dead man has been named as Zbigniew Michniewicz of Greenford Road.

Detectives said a grave had been prepared for the victim in the back garden. They are appealing for neighbours who back on to the property, and who may have seen something suspicious going on in the garden, to come forward.

Police also want to speak to anyone who witnessed a fight between three white men which was seen outside the house "two or three weeks ago".

DCI Noel McHugh said: "I am keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious at the address or who may have some information. I also want to hear from anyone who stayed at or visited the property in the last few weeks."

A 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl have been arrested at the address, at 251 Greenford Road, in connection with the death.

They have been bailed until a date later this month.
