A Northfields' business which trains motorcyclists on local roads has been told it must stop after noise complaints.

Get Bike has twice been issued with enforcement notices by Ealing council and was in breach of a condition on its planning permission for operating motorcycle training outside its facility at Orion Park, Northfield Avenue.

The company operates in the sale, hire and repair of motorcycles and motorcycle training, with conditions in place to protect nearby residents by restricting bike collection times, limiting the noise levels of machinery used for repairs, and banning training outside the premises.

Following the latest High Court decision on Thursday, 14 August the Honourable Mr Justice Lewis ordered a ban to stop practical motorcycle training taking place outside of the building.

Councillor Julian Bell, leader of Ealing Council, said: “Despite not having permission, Get Bike continued to create an intolerable disturbance to neighbours by running noisy training sessions for up to six hours each day.

“Residents will now be free to enjoy their gardens in peace without the intrusive noise of revving motorcycle engines so close to their homes which is unacceptable, especially at weekends.”

Ealing Council will monitor the site to ensure that Get Bike comply with the terms of their planning permission.
