A homeless shelter in Ealing's celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and the charity that runs it wants to hear from anyone who may help compile its history.

Hestia’s Dame Gertrude Young House on Castlebar Hilll has provided shelter since 1984 for single men who have become homeless for a variety of reasons and has helped them to get back on their feet and rebuild their lives.

To celebrate this landmark, Hestia Housing and Support is creating a history of the service which it will publish in an anniversary event this summer.

The service has been transformed during this time, and the focus has changed from simply providing basic support and a roof, to empowering them to develop relationships and life skills they need to get their lives back on track.

The history of the organisation is only as important as the stories of those it has helped and Hestia say they need your help to create this history.

Did you work for Dame Gertrude Young House in the past? Did you live there? Did you help set up the service?
