In a surprise new year move The Long Arm brewery based at Ealing Park Tavern (EPT) has been closed down.

The EPT reopened four years ago after a major refurbishment by the ETM group owned by brothers Ed and Tom Martin.

The historical building was previously the site of the Lewis Furnell Brewhouse, and brewing took place there until the mid-1800s.

The Long Arm microbrewery, at the rear of the pub, was opened in 2015 and the then head brewer Vlad Schmidt helped create a variety of popular craft beers. Vlad left the pub over a year ago and now the brewing side of the EPT is being cut back.

A spokesperson from the ETM group which runs the Ealing Park Tavern told us:

'' ‘We have closed the Long Arm brewery Ealing site and are temporarily rationalising our brewing, however, Long Arm Worship Street will continue to brew our iconic, Long Arm beers which will be available in ETM venues. Exciting plans are already in motion for us to brew with greater capacity and variety, while maintaining our great quality.’
