Staff and students at Elthorne Park High school students and staff are celebrating their best ever results for A Levels this year.

50% receieved A*- A grades and 76% A*- B grades were overall at A Level or BTEC.

The top A Level performance was from Jake Trowbridge who achieved three A* grades in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and in his Extended Project.  He also achieved an A grade in Physics. He will be going to the University of Southampton to read Aeronautics and Astronautics with a year abroad.

Twins, Rasha and Mohammed Kamlah (below) both achieved highly. Mohammed got A* in both Economics and History with an A grade in Geography. Mohammed is going on to King’s College, London to read International Relations. Rasha achieved A* in History and B in both Economics and Mathematics. She is going on to read Economics at SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies). The twins have been spending the summer working for Clive Lewis MP, member of the Shadow Cabinet, Shadow Secretary of State for Defence.

Ten students also achieved the highest possible BTEC grade of D*D*D*: Gabriella Bishop, Joseph Hurst, Khizer Iqbal, Hamza Ishaque, Krishan Kamboj, Leila Kharas, Dania Marwan, Madeline Perrins, Jesse Seehra and Ciara Short. They have all secured university places.

A high proportion of students are going on to university with 87% taking up places at their first choice of university. 43% have confirmed offers from top Russell Group universities.

Students hold unconditional offers from universities including SOAS, University of Hull, Middlesex University, Manchester Metropolitan and Roehampton.

Assistant Headteacher and Head of Sixth Form, Victoria Wells said, “I am so proud of all of our students and staff for all of the hard work that has led to our best results ever. As the Sixth Form continues to grow, the range of really interesting courses and highly respected universities our students go on to each year is really exciting.”

Headteacher Eliot Wong said "The Sixth Form is going from strength to strength with 2016 being our best results ever. Our fantastic results are testament to the hard work put in by staff and students alike. I am absolutely thrilled and wish all of our students great success in the next stage of their education.”
