An Ealing Councillor will swap his suit for a jolly elf costume for a day to help raise money for a local charity.

Jon Ball - who is very tall (6ft 6'') - represents the Ealing Common Ward and is the Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Ealing Central and Acton.

He's been getting into the festive spirit with his Liberal Democrat colleagues and was challenged to appear in his brightly coloured costume in public.

Cllr Ball has decided to take up the gauntlet - but only if he can raise money.

He tells Ealing Today:

'' I'll make a personal appearance in Ealing Broadway in my elf costume if someone (or a consortium) donates £500 to the Ealing Elderly Residents Charity.''

The recently established charity aims to combat loneliness and isolation and is aiming to help pensioners across the borough.

So, anyone interested in seeing a 6ft 6'' elf in Ealing?
