Electric charging points are likely to be installed across Northfields and South Ealing in a bid to cut down on emmissions.

Northfields Conservative Councillor David Millican announced at Full Council last evening that Ealing Council will consult on installing 14 electric car charging points across the area.

Councillor Millican said: "I have been lobbying for electric car charging points in the Northfields Ward I represent for more than a year, ever since I saw the electric cars on display at the 2017 Blondin Festival.  In our 2018 election leaflet we committed to promote this and so I am thrilled that Ealing Council will actively consult on installing electric car charging points across Northfields and South Ealing.  We all want to see a reduction in emissions from vehicles and I hope that this will encourage drivers to consider switching."

Transport planners for the borough say some of the units are intended to be fast charge 22 KW EVCPs enabling a full charge in around 2 hours.  Subject to public consultation, it's expected that the first batch of will be installed in early 2019 with more coming in future phases.
