For the second year running (!) Ealing's been voted as having THE best half marathon in the runners equivalent of the Oscars.

The Running Awards is an annual ceremony celebrating the best of running and its culture.

The 2015 winners were announced on Friday (24/04) at The O2 Arena and to the delight of the hard working organisers and team, Ealing was declared number 1 once again.

It won the same plaudit last year and in 2013 received recognition from Runner's World Magazine for best atmosphere.

This year it was up against The BUPA Great Manchester run and the Royal Parks - both firmly established - so to win again is a remarkable feat. See more results here

Race Director, Kelvin Walker, said:

'' We are thrilled to win gold as the UK's Number One Half Marathon for the second year running at The Running Awards. It's voted for by runners so it means a huge amount to us and the team who work all year round to make sure the Ealing Half Marathon is a success.

'' We continue to be amazed at the thousands of runners, spectators and volunteers who make our race so special - the ealingfeeling is growing !  We are a not for profit organisation that aims to bring the community together all year round - Ealing is a pretty special place to be. We can't wait for the next one on Sunday September 27th.''

Sandra Courtney added: “We have got a very loyal following and with the Ealing Half Marathon being a Community Interest Company (CIC) which exists to benefit the community rather than private shareholders, the race gets a lot of support from local businesses, residents and runners.

“Places to the UK’s Best Half Marathon are currently still available and we are looking forward to another great race in September.”
