Community groups in Ealing have launched a manifesto calling on the council to work alongside them to tackle many of the problems facing the borough.

The 10 point ‘Voluntary Sector Manifesto’  ahead of the local elections has been developed by Ealing Community Network which acts as a collective local ‘voice for the voluntary sector’.

The Manifesto calls on the Council to work in partnership with local groups to tackle issues such as poverty, homelessness, loneliness and inequalities. It also calls on the Council to consider ideas where delivery of activities by local voluntary groups could support at least as many residents but do so at less cost than current in-house Council delivery.

Andy Roper, Chair of Ealing Community Network said: “Our Manifesto sets out practical ideas where local voluntary groups could work with the Council to improve the lives of Ealing residents. We hope, if elected, all new Councillors will take our ideas seriously and be willing to meet with us” said Andy Roper, Chair of Ealing Community Network.
