Investigators have now traced family of Ian McClen

British Transport Police (BTP) who were looking for the family of a man who died at Ealing Broadway station earlier this month say they have now made contact.

BTP officers and colleagues from the Metropolitan Police Service attended the station on Thursday 8th May after a report that a man had been struck and killed by a train.

The incident was reported to police at 8pm and is not being treated as suspicious. Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service also attended, but Ian McClen, 46, of Villiers Road, Southall, London, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police investigating the death have pieced together a clear picture of Mr McClen’s life, but were initially unable to contact his next of kin.

However, following an appeal, Mr McClen’s sister made contact with investigators.

Terry Hancocks, BTP’s fatalities investigator, said: “I’m pleased we’ve been able to trace Ian’s sister and would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance.”
