Photographic exhibition will feature as part of anniversary celebrations

Ealing Hospital is 40 next week and part of the celebrations will include a small photographic exhibition.

The hospital, which opened in 1979, was predated by King Edward VII which was opened by Princess Helena, one of Queen Victoria’s daughters, in 1911.

The royal connection continued with a visit by Princess Anne during the 1980s and the hospital has since attracted a host of celebrities.

These included Olympic gold medallist Linford Christie, singer Elton John, actor Ian McKellen and Shirley Valentine actress Pauline Collins.

The hospital is also a popular location for filmmakers with shows including 24, Humans, Luther, Silent Witness, Porters, Best Marigold Hotel and McMafia.
