A 21 year old man from Northolt was caught with drugs in his underpants whilst on bail for another drugs offence.

In December 2012 officers stopped Alphie Khan, who was driving by the Target Roundabout, Northolt.

They found small amounts of herbal cannabis fragments in the car and Khan was found with a bag around his ankle.

Further examination revealed that it was large sum of money, approximately £7,000 in cash wrapped in a carrier bag. He was arrested on suspicion of money laundering and taken to Acton Police Station.

With the help of the Financial Investigation Unit, a full investigation into Khan and the money took place. The money was sent for analysis and found to be heavily contaminated with cocaine and Tetrahydrocannabinol(THC).

Whilst on bail for this offence, it came to light that Khan was dealing drugs from his home address.

Officers executed a warrant at the address under the Misuse of Drugs Act in March 2013 and Khan, who was at home at the time, was found to have 24 wraps of cocaine hidden in his underpants. He was charged with possession with intent to supply.

Alphie Khan, Aspen Lane, Northholt was convicted of possession of criminal property and possession with intent to supply class A drugs, at Isleworth Crown Court on Friday 11 October 2013.

He is now remanded in custody and will be sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court on Friday 8 November.

The cash seized in December 2012, which amounted to £6255 is currently detained under the Proceeds of Crime Act and officers will be applying for forfeiture of the money at Ealing Magistrates Court next month.
