A drug dealer has been jailed for over five years after being arrested in Ealing.

Officers from the Met Task Force Territorial Support Group #TSG were patrolling in W13 as part of Operation Magnitude, a West Area BCU initiative across Hillingdon, Ealing & Hounslow targeting drug related violence.

On Broughton Road they spotted an Audi A3 being driven by Dominic James, 34 of Sycamore Gardens, Tottenham.

They stopped the car and the driver  grabbed a large packet of drugs from inside and attempted to run off. He was detained but continued to struggle to try and escape. The package of drugs was recovered and £1039 cash along with several mobile phones.

The investigation was taken on by West Area’s Drug Focus Desk led by Inspector Dan Thompson and analysis of the drugs identified it as 63.87 grams of Heroin with an estimated street value of £3500.

Dominic James was charged with possession with intent to supply Heroin and possession of criminal property. Police bail was refused and he was put before Uxbridge Magistrates Court on Wednesday 19th February where he was remanded into custody and later pled guilty at Isleworth Crown Court to all offences. On Thursday 19th March 2020 he received 5 years 7 months imprisonment. The cash and mobile phones seized were confiscated.

Inspector Dan Thompson – West Area Drugs Focus desk, ”What a great result for Operation Magnitude, the TSG & the West Area’s Drugs Focus Desk. We are all absolutely committed to driving down violence & making our streets safer. I hope that this example of excellent teamwork will reassure our communities & deter those who wish to pedal drugs.”
