Unveiling The Archives of A Unique Hanwell Artist
The works of Antony Dracup to be displayed at exhibitions this year

The son of a Hanwell artist is sharing his father's work in the hope that the original material will be taken up by a National Museum for a wider audience.

Antony Dracup lived at 1 Maunder Road in W7 between 1956 and 1980, and made his mark on the house with its carved wooden owl at the front and devil round the side and each brick painted a different colour.

He also produced hundreds of oils and watercolours of the area and of many locations throroughout London.

When he moved to Shropshire in the 80s this unique artist became famous for his incredible tardis like home which he created by excavating the sandstone cave at the back of the house as featured in the Daily Mail.
Mr Dracup, died in 2002 aged 72.
His son Dennis, an Ealing based theatre designer and scenic artist, is currently in the process of curating his father's huge archive and has received much positive feedback after sharing on local social media pages.
He says: '' Hopefully it will bring back some memories of a quieter time, when banks were still banks and traffic went two ways! I have been sitting on this beautiful legacy for some time and it's now time to release it from the drawers.''

He wants to show the work at various exhibitions this year and plans to sell high quality prints of his father's work.
