After lying empty for several years the first named retailer has just been announced for the Dickens Yard development in Ealing centre.

British fashion retailer, Jigsaw, originally founded in Hampstead in 1972, will take a space on the new shopping site linking the open squares at the mixed-use development.

The new store will open its doors from autumn 2018.

In February 2016, Charlotte’s W5 restaurant and cocktail bar opened in the listed Old Stable Block. It is the first restaurant in Ealing to receive the Bib Gourmand award (2017 Michelin Guide).

St George, who are the developers of the site plan to announce a selection of other retailers, restaurants and leisure operators that will also be opening.

Commenting on the Jigsaw announcement, Craig Carson, Managing Director of St George West London said: “St George is delighted that Jigsaw is the first retailer to sign-up at Dickens Yard. Dickens Yard will be an exciting mix of new homes, shops, restaurants and leisure offers which will bring a new energy to the town centre.”

Peter Ruis, Chief Executive of Jigsaw added: “We are delighted to be opening a new store in Ealing town centre, fronting the new public square currently being delivered by St George. We look forward to being part of Dickens Yard and adding to Ealing’s superb shopping offer.”

Dickens Yard had an official launch in 2011 and Council Leader Julian Bell said he hoped it would start the 'renaissance' of Ealing.

On completion in 2019, the development will comprise 700 new homes; 496 of which have already been delivered, 104,000 sq ft of retail space a new landscaped public square and public realm.
