An Ealing man's heading to France to climb an 8,400ft mountain and raise money for disadvantaged children.

CEO and Founder of Fit For Sport, Dean Horridge, will be climbing Le Brévent this month to celebrate the company's 25th anniversary.

The Yellow Ball Foundation was founded in 2007 to provide bursaries for healthy active programmes to those least able to afford them. Fit For Sport has been helping underprivileged children join activity programmes and last year donated over £100,000.

At twice the size of the UK’s largest mountain Ben Nevis, Dean will be climbing up and down the 8,400ft French mountain in just a day and has raised over £1,000 for the children’s charity so far.

He says: ''We have an opportunity to make healthy lifestyles accessible to all. The charity enables more underprivileged young children and families in Ealing to participate in activity programmes and helps them to gain the essential social and physical skills to build confidence and reach their potential.”

''£5 enables a child to attend one afternoon at an Extended School Club, £20 enables a child to attend a whole day at an Activity Camp, and £50 enables a child to attend a whole week at an Extended School Club. I want to raise as much awareness as I can to ensure all children have the same opportunities.
