A teenage cyclist has been injured after reportedly being hit by a lorry this afternoon near Elthorne Park.

Witnesses say it happened on Boston Road near Trumpers Way around 3pm (Wednesday 17 July) and involved a pupil from the nearby Elthorne School.

The Air Ambulance was called and landed at Elthorne Park but the boy was treated at the scene then taken by road to a major trauma centre.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said, "We were called at 3:18pm today (17 July) to Boston Road, W7, to reports of a road traffic collision involving a bicycle and a lorry.

"We dispatched an incident response officer, two medics in response cars and an ambulance crew. We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance.

"We treated a male at the scene and took him by road to a major trauma centre."

Police say, ''A boy, believed to be aged 15 was taken to hospital with injuries; we await an update on his condition."

There are unconfirmed reports that the boy's injuries are less severe than originally feared and he is recovering well.
