Cultivate London are now recruiting for their March 2015 Training Programme (2nd March - 8th May 2015).

Anyone aged 16-24 who might be interested is being urged to take part in a "taster session" during the last week of February (Tuesday 24th, Wednesday 25th, Thursday 26th).

Everyone is welcome, regardless of horticulture experience, and no commitment is required.  The taster will enable interested parties to, see how things work at Cultivate London and decide if the program might be for them.

Our training programme comprises a 2.5 month placement with Cultivate London and a 2-week work placement at another enterprise.  While at Cultivate London, trainees learn a wide range of basic horticulture skills, have the opportunity to achieve a level one qualification in practical horticulture, maths and literacy, and be involved in many aspects of the running of our award-winning social enterprise, from seed sowing to harvest and sales. Training takes place across our three sites in South Acton (our new home base!), Isleworth and Brentford. All expenses are covered, including lunch, travel and equipment costs.

Following the 2.5 months with Cultivate London, trainees are matched with a suitable local business, where they will complete a two-week work placement.  Examples of businesses with whom we are collaborating to provide work experience are Amey (who hold a contract with Ealing Council), Walpole Gardens, Chiswick House Gardens and Octink, among others.

This is a great first step to becoming work-ready, and is a fantastic option for youth who are looking to get out there and try something new, while building their CV.

Also, brand new this year is the chance for youth to take part in Cultivate London's PAID Internship Programme upon completion of the volunteer programme in May.

Two paid placements will be on offer to trainee graduates who demonstrate a keen interest and a willingness to work hard.

Internships will be three months long, and will provide interns the opportunity for more in-depth participation in this award-winning social enterprise.
