Ealing Croquet Club hoping to create community hub
Ealing Croquet Club has recently embarked on a new project to develop the Lammas Park Pavilion and lawns. Its aim is to create a new community hub with croquet at its core, preserving the heritage of the site for future generations. Lammas Park has been home to croquet for over 100 years. The plan includes a social hub within Lammas Park, restoring the existing buildings to encourage the widest possible participation by local residents, park users and community groups. Croquet would remaining the primary activity, providing a solution that they believe better integrates the site with the park. During 2022, the club will begin to implement the new operating strategy, opening up the site to the wider community, with Bean n Scone's mobile coffee trike operating from the site, and public Pay & Play sessions running on a regular basis. Plans to improve disability access will allow the club to expand their existing charitable activities with a wide range of community groups. Ealing Croquet Club are now seeking feedback from the local community on these plans. Visit the Vision page at www.ealingcroquet.org/vision to find out more about the club’s Strategy for the Lammas Park site, and to give your feedback. The club is also holding a public consultation drop-in event at the pavilion in Lammas Park on Saturday 19 February open between 12pm – 3pm. You will be able to view the plans and leave your feedback.
