Ealing Covid-19 Infection Rates Remarkably Stable Given Regular Testing of Staff and Pupils in Schools

The latest infection rate for Ealing is now 52.1/100,000. Ealing no longer has the highest rate amongst London boroughs - but it is the fourth worst. The highest neighbourhood rate in Ealing I can find is Ealing Broadway West at 146.3. There were three Covid-19 deaths within 28 days of a positive test. 171 people tested positive during the last seven days in Ealing. 12 new Covid-19 patients were admitted to Ealing Hospital and Northwick Park Hospital during the last seven days.

Ealing Council closed Gurnell Leisure Centre over a year ago in response to Covid-19. The Council was so confident that Councillors would approve the centre being demolished, it stated in July 2020 that the current centre would never re-open. The Council’s Planning Committee rejected demolition/development plans at Gurnell on 17 March 2021. Ever since then residents have demanded the current centre should be re-opened. Ealing Council Attempts For the Third Time to Push Through Its Perceval House Site Development

A Covid-19 response virtual Planning Meeting will take place this Wednesday evening (31 March) at 7pm. The Council will attempt to get approval for its 26 storey tower dominated 477 flat development. 2,250 objections have been registered on the Council’s web site.
