Dr Mynors is a planning barrister and local Ealing resident. He is also the leading authority on the law as it relates to the built heritage, trees and forestry and outdoor advertising. The title of his talk is "What's the point of a civic society?" which will be very timely given that next year Ealing Civic Society will be celebrating its 50th year.

He will be covering: is there such a thing as society? What should be the hallmarks of a civil society? What are civic values? And, against that background, what should be
the role of a civic society (in the sense of an amenity group)? Is it just a group of
those who have made it, and are resisting all further change, or should it have a
broader agenda?

All are welcome to the talk which will take place Tuesday 24th May at 7.30pm in the Victoria Hall, Ealing Town Hall, Uxbridge Rd, W5 2BY.
