Charlotte's W5 is shortlisted along with a church, several schools and the University of West London for the Ealing Civic Society Awards for 2016.

The awards, recognise building and environmental projects which make a noteworthy contribution to the borough,and will be presented by guest speaker, Dr Rupa Huq, MP for Ealing Central and Acton.

Previous winners have ranged from landscapes (such as the award-winning Northala Fields project) to schools (Ravenor Primary School and the William Perryn School) and new private houses (the Brooke Coombes house in
Mountfield Road Ealing) to church spaces (the interior of St Mary's Church
South Ealing and Christ the Saviour Hall).

Ealing Civic Society chairman Robert Gurd said that the aim of the contest was to embrace all kinds of building and landscape design.

Dr Gurd added: “We are trying to encourage the best in new architecture – our Society isn't
just about preserving historic buildings, it's also about promoting good modern ones.”

It's an an open meeting, to which all are welcome and will take place on Tuesday 8th November at 7.30pm in Ealing Town Hall.
