You'll probably recognise the surname and, yes, he does have a rather well known sibling, but the packed audience weren't there to see his big brother- currently convalescing after his heart operation.

It was Chris Jagger and band with their own unique country and cajan sounds that provided the night's top class entertainment in Pitshanger.

Chris has a history with Ealing and the area, jokingly recalling that as a teenager he once had a girlfriend who lived here.

Although he never actually visited the Ealing Club in the early days when Mick was forming the Rolling Stones, Chris did perform at the historical venue last year and has previously acknowledged its significance in his own BBC 2 radio series about Alexis Korner.

He said he was happy to have been invited back to Ealing and on this occasion take the stage with his band of highly talented musicians at the Brentham Club.

A great night of foot tapping music; guitar, accordion, fiddle, harmonica, keyboard and drums was enjoyed by the packed room - if you missed it this time be sure to get your tickets in good time next.

Well done to the Ealing Club organisers for encouraging such high calibre musicians to the area and keeping music live - (maybe they can try and persuade Sir Mick to do a little warm up gig here when he's back in action before his next world tour?!)

The next not to be missed event in our musical borough is of course The Hanwell Hootie. Saturday 11 May.

See you there!
