Ealing's officially arrived on the culinary map following the announcement that Charlotte's W5 has been awarded a Bib Gourmand.

Charlotte's W5

The much sought after prize is handed out by the Michelin Guide and recognises good value establishments with good quality cooking that offer three courses for under £28.

Bib Gourmand refers to Bibendum, the name of the character created by the Michelin brothers in 1898 which has has become a mascot for the brand. He is now better known now as The Michelin Man.

It's the first ever Bib Gourmand handed out to a new Ealing restaurant, although sister site Charlotte's Place has also been recognised and awarded 2 rosettes in the AA guide.

Sushi Hiro was the last Ealing restaurant to have been awarded a Bib gourmand in 2010.

Charlotte's W5 opened just eight months ago in the Dickens Yard development so the recognition by the 2017 Michelin judges is quite an achievement.

Owner Alex Wrethman is naturally delighted and tells us: '' I’m over the moon, especially as a local boy, that both Charlotte’s Place & now Charlotte’s W5 are flying the flag for Ealing.''
