An Ealing woman who set out to prove that you can still travel the world once you have had a baby, has won a top writing award.

Mum of one and blogger Cathy Winston has just been crowned as the winner of  the Family Travel category in the prestigious 2016 Brilliance in Blogging Awards (The BiBs).

Her blog, MummyTravels about the ups and downs of travelling the world with kids beat off stiff competition from the current best blogs.

More than 50,000 votes were cast across 12 categories for the awards which are organised by BritMums, and Cathy has passed through three levels of voting to be crowned as the winner.

BritMums is the UK’s largest and most influential collective of lifestyle bloggers and social influencers and the BiBs winners were announced at the glittering awards ceremony on Saturday 25 June 2016, presented by TV host, Carol Smillie.

Cathy started the blog in 2012, just before her daughter was born, and has worked with brands like TotsToTravel, Elite Island Resorts, and various tourist boards.

Cathy says: “I was over the moon to win – I started the blog when I was pregnant to prove that I could keep travelling despite everyone’s gloomy predictions. I could never have imagined where it would lead. My daughter has now been on 15 overseas trips, from Miami to Myanmar, I’ve made some wonderful friends among other family travel bloggers and we’ve had some amazing opportunities.”
