There's been another gas attack and cash point raid this morning in Hanwell.

Police say the ATM at Boston Parade was subject to attack at 4.43am today, Monday, 12 January.

On arrival officers discovered the ATM had been damaged. The suspects had gone before police arrived. Fire and ambulance services were called as a precaution.

There have been no arrests. Road closures were in place but roads are now open. Enquiries are ongoing.

It's the latest in a series of cash point robberies in the area and a method gangs are using more and more, it involves inserting a tube into the cash dispenser, flooding it with a combustible gas from a canister, then activating a trigger device.

In November the machine on South Ealing Road was subject to a gas attack and there have been others reported in Acton and Isleworth.

The Attorney General has said there has been a marked increase in this type of crime.
