It will cost less to park in Southall from the end of September until next year.

Ealing Council has reduced parking rates in a bid to help local trade. The usual £1.50 per hour will be cut to to 80p (Monday to Friday). The price is also lower at the weekend with shoppers able to stay for just £1.50 an hour, instead of the usual £2.

Southall Market car park is opposite North Road and Southall police station, and is accessed from Uxbridge Road. It is open from 8am until 6pm and has space for 89 cards, including two disabled bays.

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for transport and environment said:

“These discounted rates are designed especially to encourage shoppers into the area. The ongoing improvements to the Southall Boulevard are on schedule and will make a huge difference to Southall’s appeal, but, while the works are taking place, I know that local businesses will appreciate this incentive to encourage more visitors.”
