Caravan Destroyed in Fire in Hanwell

Crews called to Townholm Crescent in the early hours of this morning

A caravan and nearby car have been destroyed in a fire in the early hours of this morning in Hanwell.

Two fire engines and around 10 firefighters and officers were called to the blaze on Townholm Crescent. A wooden shed and fencing was also damaged by fire.

Watch Manager Wayne Healey who attended the scene said:

“When firefighters arrived they faced an intense fire. There was a gas cylinder attached to the front of the vehicle and crews immediately cooled it down with a jet because some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat. Firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading any further, and luckily nobody was injured.”

The Brigade was called at 0256 and the fire was under control 0409. Fire crews from Ealing and Southall fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation by London Fire Brigade officers and the police.
