Angie Bray the MP for Ealing Central and Acton threw a party at Westminster this week for two Ealing businesswomen who have become an essential “go to” point for mums in the area who want to start, or are already running a business.

Ealing Mums in Business was started four years ago by Shelley Henderson and Erin Thomas-Wong, two local mums running their own businesses, who joined together to help others like themselves.

The party was attended by Ealing businesses and parliamentary colleagues of Angie Bray who told me “In the 21st century it’s getting common for businesses to be started and run from home. But you need support, advice and contacts. I can offer a plug-in service to connect small businesses to people that can offer concrete, practical help”

Other business owners – like Sarah Brown, the founder of Ealing based PIA skincare – also gave speeches offering support and advice.

Shelley and Erin’s website < http://www.mums-in-business.co.uk/>  has a range of helpful services including training and a “Little Black Book” of essential contacts and advice. They also promote many local events like the popular Northfields Markets.
