An Ealing woman, in recovery after being treated for breast cancer, will be running two and a half marathons to raise funds for a unit which offers free therapeutic services.

The Breast Cancer Haven is a charity which provides a huge range of therapies and psychological support to women, men and their families affected by breast cancer at no charge.

Services on offer include aromatherapy, reflexology, acupuncture, counselling, yoga, hypnotherapy as well as nutrition sessions.

Catherine Gunnewicht

Catherine Gunnewicht finished breast cancer treatment 5 months ago and has been making use of the aromatherapy and scar massaging services at the Fulham based Breast Cancer Haven.

She says: ''The surgery had left me with a sore, stiff feeling in my right arm and the scar massaging is proving very beneficial. The tamoxifen I have to take for 5 years gives me joint pain so the acupuncture is helping with that.''

In order to thank the centre for their support she is aiming to raise £4000 by running 2 marathons and the Royal Parks Half marathon.

She's also planning to hold a raffle/ auction and hoping local businesses can help by offering prizes. If anyone can donate contact c.gunnewicht@hotmail.co.uk
