A beautiful sunny day saw Blondin Park in Northfields packed to the hilt on Sunday ( 2 Sept) with residents enjoying the annual Brentford Festival.

This great community event is run by a huge amount of dedicated volunteers and headed by event organiser, Linda Massey.

Thousands of people were entertained by a great selection of live music, there was a children's fairground, the ever popular dog show, vintage vehicles and lots of food and community stalls to wander round.

Linda said: “We had a few challenging logistical problems at the beginning but what an amazing day it turned out to be. The sun was out, the bars ran dry, lots of people were dancing at the end to the fantastic bands along with a great crowd. Thanks to the event team who were brilliant as always and I hope do not suffer too long with the aching feet and bodies.  Already requests are coming in to book for next year which is great but quite honestly we need some time out so won't be worrying about this for a while”

Proposals are underway for a new pavilion for Blondin Park and around £500 money was raised in donations on the day.

Northfields Councillor David Millican said: ''Let me offer the hugest thanks to all the volunteers who made this the best ever Brentford Festival in Blondin Park.  The gorgeous weather brought out the local residents in record numbers.  It seemed that every community group and small business in the area had a stand and was doing a roaring trade.
The next project by the community is the Blondin Consortium set up to invest in a sports pavilion and café to turn Blondin Park into a sports and community hub.  Find out more here''

Well done to all involved - a great day!
