Students in Ealing have been given a helping hand to protect their property.

Officers from Ealing Broadway Safer Transport Hub Team and Ealing Broadway Safer Neighbourhoods Team teamed up with Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College in a series of crime prevention initiatives, designed to help prevent thefts of bicycles in the borough.

Held as a part of National Bike Week officers were able to automatically log bike details on National Property Register www.immobolise.com.

Over 200 people are estimated to have attended the three events with over 100 items registered.

PCSO Benzallat who organised it:

"This was an excellent way of engaging with students as well as being able to register their property. It makes it far easier for police to trace stolen property if it is registered and the system we have used allowed us to do that quickly, accurately and on the spot. We would like to thank Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College for all the assistance provided to us during the course of this initiative."

Paula Whittle, Principal of Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College said:

“We are pleased to be working in partnership with the Safer Neighbourhoods Teams as a way of helping our students stay secure and safe. We look forward to developing this relationship in the future and would like to thank the teams for their continuing support.”
