The new Sixth Form and Art & Design Building at St Benedict’s School has been unveiled.

The contractors moved out and the hoarding came down on Friday 2nd October.

The following day pupils, parents, staff and visitors could get a first look round the whole building during the Saturday Open Morning. On Sunday 4th October fifty Alumni attending a Reunion Lunch at St Benedict’s enjoyed a tour of the new building.

The planned schedule is for the Sixth Form to move into their new quarters after the half-term holiday on Monday 2nd November. Over the half-term holiday the maintenance and ICT teams will be hard at work fitting out the rooms and making them ready for use.

The ADT department will have to wait a while longer as there is considerably more fitting out to be done before their accommodation is ready.

They are scheduled to move in at the start of Lent term on Wednesday 6th January. Cardinal Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster, will perform the Official Opening on the 28th of January.
