Children from schools and nurseries in Ealing raised £3,330 for Barnardo’s through last summer’s Big Toddle and are getting ready to support the charity again in its 150th anniversary year.

New World Montessori School in Hardwick Green raised £238, Fielding Primary School Nursery in Northfields raised £320, Melrose Nursery School in North Acton raised £250, The Ealing Montessori School in Acton raised £580, La Nounou in South Acton raised £420, Caterpillar Montessori Nursery School in South Acton raised £934, and Maria Montessori School in West Acton raised £520. In Hanwell, Buttons Day Nursery School raised £58 and Bunny Park Day Nursery raised £10.

Little ones dressed up as pirates and donned eye patches before completing a half-mile march last year. Together, the Ealing nurseries that took part in 2015 have contributed more than £17,000 to support Barnardo’s work since the annual campaign first launched.

Lynn Gradwell, Director of Barnardo’s in London, said: “I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone in Ealing who took part in last year’s Big Toddle, raising so much money to support our work with young people in London and beyond.

“We’re really excited so many people are taking part in our animal-themed Big Toddle, and we hope many more people will sign up to join in the fun in our 150th anniversary year, and help to make sure we are always here to support the most vulnerable children, families and young people.”

Since the Big Toddle started in 1997 it has raised more than £14million for Barnardo’s.
