Four local Ealing Eagles ball hockey players, based out of Elthorne Sports Centre, represented Team GB at the World Ball Hockey Championships.

Alister Rae, Dominic Rae and Joe Richardson played U16 in Czech Rep with Alister also representing GB in U18 action in St. John’s Newfoundland in Canada.

Jessica Rae meanwhile played for Team GB on the Under 20 Women’s team.

Team GB are known in the ball hockey world for putting in gritty performances against the World’s best and while they didn’t manage to win any games they played brilliantly, in particular against Slovakia (a ball hockey powerhouse) in a 3-0 loss.

In U16 action all scoring for Team GB came from Ealing Eagles players with Alister Rae getting both goals with assists coming from Ealing Eagles’ Joe Richardson and Adam Harrison.

The u16 team had a particularly strong game against team USA with Alister scoring GB’s lone goal and Dominic only allowing 2 goals against him. In that game Alister was awarded the ISBHF Team GB Man of the Match for his play and team coaches named Dominic the GB player of the Day.

Additional awards won by Ealing Eagle players: Alister was named Team GB’s Player’s Player and Top Forward and Dominic was given the award for Top Defence and Jessica Rae received a coaches player of the Day award. Joe Richardson also played really well and was very versatile being asked to play both forward and defence.
