The campaign to set up an arts centre in the under-used Ealing Town Hall has stepped up a notch.

Ealing Arts Centre Ltd has set up an on-line petition to demonstrate to reluctant Councillors that these much needed facillities are widely supported by the electorate.

Ealing Arts Centre directors will be meeting again with councillors next week to try and further this important project.

The Arts Centre would house a multitude of activities, including art and dance classes, music rehearsal studios, chess and other clubs, books and poetry circles, yoga and keep-fit, exhibitions and talks, festivals, meetings and weddings.
Its focal point will be the cafe/gallery near the entrance.
It will be in a position to offer classes to the disabled as their Personalisation plan gets into swing and various organisations for the disabled are extremely interested.
Ealing Ars Centre directors are currently exploring the practicalities of setting up a film club.
Also interested in participating in the Arts Centre are all Ealing's colleges, including TVU.

The centre will run activities for teenagers who badly need these facilities.
Once the Victoria Hall is upgraded the Arts Centre will invite not only local performing companies, but national touring companies to perform here, in Ealing.

Who could be against such a venture?
