A new food and craft market will be taking place in the centre of Ealing and it will kicking off with a special cheese festival.

Ealing Artisan is the combination of two local markets W5 Food Market and Crafted W5.

On Sunday 8 October Ealing Artisan will host ‘We Love Cheese’, a free cheese festival taking place at Dicken's Yard 11am – 4pm with food stalls, talks by producers and importers as well as live music, kids’ area and cheese pairings from local wine and beer specialists.

Honest Burgers, due to open in Ealing this autumn, will be working with a local cheesemonger to conjure up a We Love Cheese-burger special for the event while street food stalwarts like Grill My Cheese will be on hand to serve up more cheesy dishes.

The festival will also have its annual Cheese Cup, for experts from around the world to enter their best cheese for judging. Guests can buy a ticket to take part in the voting for the Cheese Cup, priced at £7 in advance or £9 on the day www.welovecheesefest.co.uk. Tickets include a complimentary drink, a Cheese Cup tasting card and tasters of all the cheese entered into the competition.

Kate McKenzie at Eat Me Drink Me, the local events company which has put on the markets said: “We are delighted to open a new weekly West London market to expand the food offering for the area and can’t wait to kick it off with the ‘We Love Cheese’ special festival. Dickens Yard is a great location for people to explore the rich mix of craft and food stalls, and we look forward to celebrating what West London has to offer and introducing great food & drink stalls from across the city.”

Craig Carson, Managing Director, St George West London, said: “We are excited to bring this new artisan market to Ealing in partnership with Eat Me Drink Me. Dickens Yard has been designed with community at its heart and it’s a great opportunity to welcome the local public to enjoy the development and celebrate Ealing’s very own expert artisans.”
